This Waterway 417-5040 has a slip connection at the back that can accommodate either a 2-inch inner diameter flex hose or pipe, or the spigot from another 2" PVC part. It is designed for use with 2-inch heaters and has a 2-inch buttress thread connection on one end. This tailpiece type does not have a groove for an o-ring, so it requires a flat gasket (sold separately).
